I don't usually like cherry pie because I hate canned pie filling. The cherries in this pie had character! Go getcha some.

Per Pie Hole's Facebook page:

"For those of you that have not heard, The Cooking Channel will be at The Pie Hole on Saturday morning filming for a new show. Hope you can join us for a slice and a cup of coffee tomorrow morning. Want it to be a festive atmosphere while they are here. Hope you can come out. Selection will be large today and tomorrow so, I know I have your favorite. Hope to see you out today or tomorrow morning."

That's pretty neat.  I wonder what show it is.

Hope it's not Throwdown with Bobby Flay. I've seen that show set up unsuspecting cooks/bakers saying they're filming a new show, then Flay shows up and issues his challenge. But I think Alayne's safe, cuz Throwdown is on Food Network, not its new baby brother.

Having tasted the pie, I don't think Pie Hole should be too worried about Bobby Flay though :)

New pie flavor that is really good- butterscotch with oatmeal, peanuts.  I recommend heating it a tad in the microwave and top with a scoop of high quality vanilla ice-cream.  It's gotta be healthy with oatmeal, right?  Well it certainly is tasty.

Finally got there! Wow. Just. Wow.

As someone else mentioned, yeah - I passed it right by the first time. And it's been quite some time since I've been on Canton. You guys are seriously spoiled up there! I need to just pitch a tent somewhere and spend a month or 10 walking around eating.

I didn't see any of the savory pot pies but I wasn't interested anyway. I got a slice of buttermilk and a slice of pumpkin.

I realized I don't like "cold" pies. And then I realized I don't remember refrigerating any pies recently. They're usually eaten warm or spend less than 24 hours on the counter before they're gone. These pies were COLD. So I took a bite of each in the car and drove to 5 Guys.

A few hours later I attempted the pies again and they were a decent temp. One thing that hit me was the buttermilk is sweet. Almost too sweet. Without a big glass o' milk I wouldn't have eaten more than 2 bites at a time. And I love sweets. It will still get eaten, but "Whoa, that's SWEET" was my first thought in the car. I don't see me ordering it again though.

The pumpkin just rocked my world. If I thought for one second my family would appreciate it, that's all I'd have for desserts during the holidays. Alas, they are quite content with canned pumpkin pies with minimum spices. Their loss.

The crust is magnificent. Is it as good as mine? Of course not ;) And my mother's crust is better than mine. But with those being #1 and #2, it's certainly in contention for #3. And most certainly better than anything I've ever bought in a bake shop.

How crazy does the driveway get when it's busy? I didn't realize it was the only way in or out (or is it?) and just bumped along happily on the way in. But on the way out I was looking for an exit I could hit in 4WD if I came face to face with anyone.

Next time I'm going to try a fruit pie. What a great place! I wonder if the Pilates place gets any sign ups from people feeling guilty about the pie ;)

You have to ask for the Chicken Pot Pie and she makes it up for you on the spot.

Some of the pies are sweeter than others- husband loves the apple because he says it is more apple than sugar.  I loved the raspberry last time I was there.  What's in season determines what is made that day.

I ordered my Thanksgiving pumpkin pie after I stopped in one afternoon and saw the pumpkin (actual veggie, not the pie) cooling in preparation for the pie.
